Secure data deletion
The cornerstone of the recycling process is data deletion. Klein Nordic can provide fully certified data deletion that meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In the context of data deletion and GDPR compliance, reporting is an important process. We submit documentation confirming responsible data deletion, including all serial numbers of the equipment and processes.
The process is designed based on guidelines in the decree on Safeguards for the Protection of Personal Data being processed for public administration, the guide from the Data Protection Agency in this regard, and the NIST SP 800-88 standard.
The Data Protection Agency recommends that if the data controller, instead of destroying storage media, hands these over to be reused, the stored information must be deleted effectively using overwriting. The Data Protection Agency recommends using a special program for overwriting data media, which overwrites data repeatedly.
The specific data deletion for your company is agreed upon individually, so you will know how we delete data or destroy hard drives, just as an agreement is made as to how we do the reporting associated with the data deletion.
The “end-of-life” concept is replaced by reuse and recycling, so products can be used repeatedly, or the materials of destroyed items could be used in new products – over and over. Where others see the end of the product cycle, we see the beginning of something new. Klein Nordic only partners with environmentally certified companies that are both ISO14001 and ISO9001 certified, ensuring that all our waste is destroyed in an environmentally responsible manner. Along with our partners, we offer the highest level of reclamation in the market: metals are reclaimed and find new life in new products. In other words, we make it possible to combine good business with social responsibility.
