sustainability

Today, one of the main global concerns is the wellbeing of the planet. Customers, businesses, investors and the general public are demanding action from companies to prevent negative impact and harms linked to their business operations.

Therefore, the United Nations have come up with Sustainable Development Goals to build a green and inclusive world by 2030. We are proud to say that Denmark is leading the way towards a greener future with ambitious goals to reduce CO2 emissions by 70% in 2030. In 2019, Copenhagen has been repeatedly called the greenest city in the world. This status was achieved partly due to city’s plan of becoming carbon-neutral by year 2025, but also due to many other initiatives, such as consumption of organic foods, car to bicycle rations, and green rooftops.

Despite many incentives, we still have a long way to go. We need to act now. There is only a decade to go before we reach 2030 and we cannot wait for new and not yet invented solutions and technologies – and we do not have to. We have the possibilities now. We need to act on them.

Klein Nordic is honoured to contribute to the greener future by giving a new life to disused, functional IT infrastructure. By purchasing back disused data centre equipment form organizations, we prevent usable equipment from ending up as waste before its full potential is utilized. We also ensure that equipment that has reached “ end-of-life” is responsibly destructed. This initiative fights against the unnecessary depletion of natural resources, precious metal mining, and unethical labour.

Our mission is to encourage and empower companies to contribute to increasing the sustainability of the global IT industry.

REDUCE

Reducing CO2 emissions and e-waste is an important parameter in the companies' Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. By reviewing the company's IT infrastructure and with the right guidance, it is possible to create an overview of how work can be done to reduce the company's e-waste and, consequently, CO2 emissions.

A defined process on responsible management of disused IT equipment helps companies to minimize their e/waste, and can be seen directly affecting their bottom line. We advise companies on the best practices for disposal of their disused IT equipment.

REUSE

We see great potential in the resale of functional IT equipment, which the companies are phasing out. Your old IT equipment is recycled by other companies that do not have the same requirements for security and performance. Thus, we optimize your old TCO on the equipment and the environmental impact of your phasing out is simultaneously minimized significantly. In other words, we provide the opportunity to combine good business with social responsibility.

RECYCLE

The “End of life” concept has been replaced by reuse and recycling, so that the products are used several times or the materials are used in new products - again and again. Where others see an end to the product cycle, we see the beginning of something new. Klein Nordic only uses environmentally certified partners with ISO14001 and ISO9001 certificate, which ensures that all our waste is destroyed in an environmentally sound manner. Together with our partners, we offer the highest recycling rate on the market, metals are recycled and given new life in new products. In other words, we provide the opportunity to combine good business with social responsibility.
